Flu Clinic A Success
by Bill Tobin 11/6/08
The Senior Center on Goulding Street was the place to get your flu shot, on Thursday November 6. free of charge, if you had pre-registered.

A volunteer staff of the Holliston Emergency Response Corps (HERC) and the Senior Center processed over 550 flu shots on Thursday, November 6th. Appointments were required, which made for a smooth flow of flu shot recipients. Forms were completed, signed and approved in record time. There were no back-ups or traffic jams, fortunately.
Thirty-five Mission Spring residents also benefited from the Covanta grant on Thursday afternoon when the volunteers brought the vaccine and paperwork to 100 Summer Street.

Sincere gratitude and appreciation for the success of this free flu clinic is bestowed on the many volunteers from the Senior Center and members of HERC who donated their time.
Special recognition and thanks to the coordinators of the program, Pat Duffey, Teresa Davis and Lina Arena-DeRosa.
Sixteen Holliston nurses, some are members of HERC, administered the vaccine. The evening clinic at the Senior Center was fortunate to have all four school nurses on board to give the shots.
This free flu clinic, staffed by volunteers and the vaccine provided by a $5000 grant from Covanta, (the transfer station in East Holliston), was no expense to the town of Holliston.
The people of Holliston have once again demonstrated that this is a town with great community spirit.
